THE MASCOT OF BALI

The main threat facing birds that was first described in 1912 is the change in natural habitat along the northwest coast of Bali. Another threat is uncontrolled (illegal) trapping to meet the world market supply as pets. The population is very little in nature, making the IUCN determine Critically Endangered / CR.

To speed up the independence process and reduce time in the cage, the officers intervened by providing food corner at a number of points. Breeding is considered quite successful so that the population target is added. Because this bird is indigenous to Bali, this bird then become the mascot of Bali island.

Birds watching is one of the most popular ecotourism in the National Park. There are bird observation packages 1-3 days, morning and evening. There are at least 35 types of endemic Bali and Java such as facon pancawana, king of shrimp, and white starlings. Visitors can also observe the differences in semi-natural and home-grown breeding by residents.
